Selma “Ziane” Zianna Stewart
Born December 29, 1947 – August 25, 2021
Selma Stewart was a head cook, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, great grandmother and was loved by all who knew her.
She was most famous for her delicious rolls, breads, and specialty candies, that she shared with family and friends, particularly on the holidays. She was a wonderful cook and a kind soul. Mom loved to sing and play guitar in her early years. She had a flair for dress, a knack for gardening and canning, and was one of the hardest working women I’ve ever known, often working as many as three jobs until she retired.
Mom spent the last few months of her life enjoying time with family, cracking joke after joke, and telling us how much she loved us. Her last prayers for not for herself, but for her children. One of her last requests was that we tell all her friends and family how much she loved you and appreciated every kind gesture.
The family would like to express a very special thank you to Nurse Alana, CNA Angie and the entire Open Arms Hospice team for the tender loving care rendered. Mom loved Alana and Angie, and we are forever grateful for the acts of kindness that brought her so much joy and comfort.
She is survived by daughter Nancy Yates, and son-in-law Jason Yates, of Easley, SC. Her daughter, Debbi Pittman, and son-in-law Alan Pittman of Greer, SC. Her son, James Leonard Stewart, Jr. of Simpsonville, SC. She is survived by four grandchildren: Chris Bohanon of Easley, SC. Alex Suttles, married to Bobby Suttles of Melbourne, FL.
