Sarah “ Susie “ Jacqueline Johnson Addis, 75, of Greenville, SC, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in Greenville. Born on May 1, 1942 in Greenville to her parents, Frank C. Johnson, Sr. and Thelma (Jones) Johnson. Susie will be remembered as a devoted and loyal wife and a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Susie was a devoted member of the Inspirational Outreach Church in Greenville. She was a PRAYER WARRIOR, lover of Christ and faithful friend, she had a smile that could light up a room and boy could the lady cook a Good Ol’ Southern Meal and a Delicious Pound Cake. Susie attended Limestone College where she studied business and she worked as an agent in the insurance industry for over 40 years.
Susie is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Frank C. Johnson, Jr. and her brother in law, Hugh “ Skeet ” Robertson. Those who will most cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Thomas B. “ Pete “ Addis of Greenville; her son, Steven “ Blair “ Addis and his wife, Deborah of Greenville, with whom she shared a very special bond, like no other; two granddaughters, Jessica and Hannah; her sister, Elizabeth Robertson of Fair Play, SC; her nieces, Jerri Clardy and Leah Ascringe (Anthony); her nephew, Rusty Johnson (Opal) and their children, Ivy and Colby; her great nephew, Logan (Mary Beth) and their children, Starlyn, Londyn and Knox; And her honorary grandchildren, Jakob and Raegan Fulmer.
A memorial service to remember and honor Susie’s life will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 6, 2017 at the Inspirational Outreach Church, 31 Calhoun Avenue, Greenville, SC 29617. A gathering of family and friends will be from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the Church. The family has requested that any flowers are to be delivered to the church.
