Sandra Jean Wilson Andersen of Brooklyn, NY; Huntington, NY and Easley SC passed away peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2022, at the age of eighty-four at The Willows of Easley. Sandy was the beloved wife of William Andersen (Bill) for 60 years, a devoted and loving Daughter of Ruth Steinhoff Wilson and Alexander Wilson; devoted and sweet Sister of Dr. Stephen Alexander Wilson and Kenneth Robert Wilson; devoted and loving Mother of Karen Jean Andersen Miller, her husband Stuart David Miller and Grandson Robert Alexander Drozdale; devoted and loving Mother of Janet Lynn Andersen Krinke, her husband William Arthur Krinke and Granddaughters Samantha Karen and Alexandra Kathleen Krinke; loving Sister-In-Law to Susan Lee Wilson and loving Aunt to Heather Anne, Jenny Carrie, and Jeffrey Robert Wilson.
Sandra was a graduate of Huntington High School's class of 1956. As a talented young artist, she was chosen to participate in a study program at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, studied art in New York and was a member of the Art Students League. After her sojourn in the New York arts scene, she met Bill, fell in love and had two beautiful girls. She was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Huntington Historical Society and the Brigade of the American Revolution's 3rd New York Regiment. Sandy, Bill and the girls toured historic sites and national parks on the east coast, teaching spectators about United States history and life in 18th Century America. She was an amazing basket-weaver and seamstress, creating authentic reproductions of baskets and beautiful replicas of 18th century clothing. She worked as an Administrator and Research Analyst for Genealogy Services of Huntington. Her diligence, patience, and joyous sense of humor were an asset to her employer.
Sandra was a gifted and caring Girl Scout Leader and Troop Founder at Southdown Elementary School. She enabled Southdown girls to experience camping and assisted them in researching a variety of topics to achieve their badges. As a Sunday School Teacher and Chairwoman of the Huntington United Methodist Church Altar Committee she actively contributed to her church community. In her later years, after relocating to Powdersville, SC she also served on the Altar Committee of the Bethesda United Methodist Church. As an outstanding, creative, and avid gardener in NY and SC she thoughtfully cultivated her own beautiful gardens and enjoyed being a member of the Powdersville Garden Club. Sandra always had a kind word for those who crossed her path, often helped those in need and was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, sister, and friend. Her deep belief in Christ was a spiritual example to all those who knew and loved her.
