Paul and Sandy Smith, passed away on January 5, 2017. They were married for 47 years. Paul was born on August 15, 1947 in Bakersfield, California to Russell and Linda Smith. He was the eldest of four children. His brothers and sisters were Dale Smith, Jim Smith, and Gerda Chow. Paul received his diploma from South High School in Bakersfield, California. He then went on to obtain an Associate of Arts Degree from Bakersfield College. He then served his country for eight years as a United States Marine. He then later retired from Ryerson Metals in January 2010 where he had worked for 26 years.
Sandy Smith was born on September 19, 1946 in Prosperity, West Virginia to Raymond and Myrtle Painter. She was one of five children, her siblings are Ray Painter, Don Painter, Patricia Davie, Bob Painter and Daniel Painter. Sandy graduated from the Maryland School for the Deaf. She also received a diploma from the Beaufort Regional Technical Center in Cosmetology. From there she went to work in the textile industry off and on for many years, but she spent a majority of her married life as a homemaker, raising her son, Paul, Jr. and then later her granddaughter, Amanda.
