Sandy was the cherished daughter of the late William and Barbara Medford. She grew up in a home filled with laughter and kindness alongside her brothers Billy and Allen Medford. Sandy's devotion to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and she was a pillar of strength and support for them all.
Her educational journey led her to earn a GED, a testament to her determination and resilience. Sandy found her true calling in life, not within the pages of textbooks, but in the hearts of the people she touched. Sandy's heart was most full when surrounded by her beloved son, Shannon Summey, and daughter-in-law, Leah Summey. She was predeceased by her son, Jamie Summey (Samantha), whose memory she held close to her heart. Sandy's grandsons, Dillen, Logen, Cullen, Hunter, and Cameron Summey with long-time girlfriend Lillianne Trussell, and her granddaughter, Kristen Summey, were the lights of her life. The joy of her later years was further amplified by the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Eli Elcome, Gage Summey and Lennon Summey. Sandy's love extended beyond her family to her dearest friend, Sheila Gillespie, who was more like a sister to her, and to the countless friends and family members whose lives she touched.

Sandy's favorite pastime was indulging in seafood while watching a good movie, a simple pleasure that brought her immense happiness.
