Sandra Eileen Hope

September 28, 1960 — December 12, 2022

Sandra Eileen Hope of Greenville, South Carolina, went to be with the lord on December 12, 2022, she was 62. She lived a beautiful, full life.

Sandra was born September 28th, 1960, in Greenville, South Carolina. She was the youngest of 6 children and grew up in the heart of downtown Greenville. She attended Saint Mary’s Catholic School through 8th grade. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1978. She started her professional career in the pool industry where she worked for 35 plus years. She was the Sales and Operations Manager for the Mid-West & Southeast region for Imperial Pools. She was hard working and took pride in her career.

Sandra immediately lit up any room she entered and made a significant impact on everyone she met. She loved her friends and family and filled her home with warmth and kindness. She was caring, kind and always the life of the party. She was a boss lady and mama bear all in one. Her love language was making people feel at home, whether it be a hot meal or just a long talk, she knew exactly how to make someone feel welcome and loved. Sandra loved cooking and entertaining, she was always quick to feed people or plan a party. Her favorite Holiday was Christmas, she took decorating to the next level and had at least four full size Christmas trees in her home, amongst many other Holiday Decorations. Her holiday spirit was contagious! The beach was Sandra’s second home, everyone knew her love for the ocean. Her most favorite place on the planet was the Isle of Palms, South Carolina, she grew up going there as a child. She continued trips and vacations to IOP several times a year and made great memories with friends and family while on those trips.

Sandra married the love of her life, Rick Hope, on November 13, 2004. They were happily married for 18 years. They lived life to the fullest together, traveling, spending time with Friends and Family and shared the same faith in God. They truly loved and cared for each other exactly the way a husband and wife should.

The other great love in Sandra’s life was her son, Bo Wilder. If there was an award for Best Mom, Sandra would have won. She raised him to be strong, loving and hardworking, she unselfishly loved and supported him no matter what. She was his rock and always will be. Bo’s daughter Emmylou was fortunate enough to have Sandra (Mama) for 8 years. Sandra called her “her angel.” She loved her so much, talked to her almost daily and saw her at least once a week if not more. Sandra took the term quality time to the next level with her sons’ family. She was a second mother to her daughter in law, and welcomed her with open, loving arms for fifteen years. She was the Best at being a mom, mother-in-law and mama.

Sandra is survived by her Husband, Rick Hope, her son Bo Wilder (Lacy), and Granddaughter Emmylou, sons Ryan Hope and Sean Hope (Jennifer). She is also survived by her Mother, Virginia Welsh and all her siblings, Mike Welsh, Pat Thackston, Jim Welsh (Ramona), John Welsh (Pat), Terri Jordan, Donna White and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. She is preceded in death by her Grandparents Derea and Hoke Renner and her father Fred J. Welsh.

Sandra was one of a kind, we are all grateful and blessed to have known and loved her.
There will be a celebration of Sandra’s life on January 7th at 11 am at St. James Episcopal Chruch, 301 Piney Mountain Rd., Greenville, SC 29609. A reception will follow in the Saint James Parish Life Center from 12:15 pm - 2 pm.
