Sandra Link Busbee, 76, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023 at her McCormick home surrounded by her loved ones.
Sandra was born October 20, 1946 in McCormick, South Carolina to Wilbur and Elizabeth Link. She grew up attending McCormick county schools and graduated from McCormick High School in the year 1964.
Sandra married George “Butch” Busbee in June of 1968. The two were lifelong companions, and were blessed with three children: Stephen, Kevin and Jennifer.
Sandra was a lifelong member of Buffalo Baptist Church in McCorrmick, South Carolina where she played the organ for many years. In addition to her service to the church, she was a well-known animal lover and spent many years fostering, adopting and volunteering her time to care for strays and other animals in need. Above all, Sandra was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother to her 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and she was very excited to recently welcome her first great grandson, Nicholas Seb into the world.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Butch; her children and their spouses: Stephen Busbee, Kevin Busbee(Marissa), and Jennifer Davenport (Michael); her grandchildren and their spouses: Hunter Jackson (Logan), Payton Busbee, Logan Busbee, Sawyer Busbee, Ella Busbee, Brock Davenport, Colton Busbee, Presley Davenport, and Wyatt Busbee; her great grandson Seb; her bother and sister in-law Charles (Connie); her sister in-laws, Merry Cox (Vardon), Mary Alice Little, her brother in law, Lee Busbee, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her “fur-babies,” the many cats she’s rescued over the years.
Sandra is preceded in death by her father, Wilbur Link, her mother, Elizabeth Link, and her step-father, Bill Burrell. Sandra will be remembered by her compassionate heart and graceful spirit.
Visitation will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 13, directly followed by a 12pm service at Buffalo Baptist Church in McCormick, SC. The family asks that everyone who attends wear bright colors to celebrate the bright light Sandra was to all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cemetery fund of Buffalo Baptist, or the McCormick Humane Society (P.O. Box 900 McCormick, SC 29835)
