Ruth Justine Washburn, 74, wonderful and devoted mother and friend, passed away Oct. 18, 2014. Born in Oxnard, CA Ruth was the daughter of Charles Lathrope and Gertrude Emerson Bridges. Ruth was a Clemson University "master gardener", foster parent, rescued and loved cats, and dedicated her life to serving others.
Surviving are three sons, Butch Baker, Mark Washburn, and Brian Washburn; two grandchildren, Kira and Koy; and one brother, Roy Bridges of AZ. Her final years were spent with the "love of her life" Donald Humphries. Predeceased were a son, Pete Baker; and a brother, Carl Bridges.
There will be no formal memorial service. In memory of Ruth the family asks you to donate to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
