Russel Earl Watson, 53, departed his family and friends on November 19, 2018, after succumbing to cancer. Russel was born in Hampton, VA, and attended Bethel High School. He enjoyed stamp collecting and Hot Wheels scaled cars. Russel was a lifelong Washington Redskins football fan. He was employed at Bargain Foods.
Russel is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Russell of South Carolina. Although there is no certificate to authenticate his devotion of love; Barb was, and always will be, his wife, his companion, and his soul mate. This devotion was evident in his heart to any who witnessed when he spoke of her.
Russel is survived by his parents, Carroll and Sandra Creasman, of Newport News, VA, his two children Stephen and Lindsey Watson of Gloucester, VA, a step-sister, Amy Brown of Moyock, NC, and Darryl Hales of Greenville, SC, who was a cousin and friend; however, their relationship and bond grew to be like brothers.
Russel had many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends that he wished them to know that he loved them and is grateful for all the love, happiness, and joy they shared.
Russel was preceded in death by Thomas Watson, Jr., a daughter, Destiny Faith Watson, and his maternal grandparents, Earl and Waverly Cook of Poquoson, VA.
Russel loved his four-legged children, Bella, Chaye, and Peanut.
