A Celebration of the life of Roy Clifford Gamble will be held on March 18, 2017 from 3-7 PM at his beloved Home at 150 Eddo Rd Pickens SC 29671. Roy was an intelligent, funny and charismatic individual. He was also stubborn as a mule and hard headed; as a result he refused to follow doctors' orders. After raising hell for more than six decades, it finally caught up with him. He enjoyed booze, antiques, arrowheads, hunting and younger women until the day he died.
Roy was born July 27, 1950 in Pennsylvania to James and Dorothy Gamble. He was a dreamer and bargainer. A realtor for most his life. The man could sell snow to an Eskimo. He loved to read and loved music. He shared a passion for antiques and “old Stuff” with his oldest son Nathan. He was a Jack of All Trades and Master of None.
Roy is survived by his Parents James and Dorothy Gamble, Sister Linda Harper ( Charles “Bud”), Niece Alexis Stenback (Johnny), Former Spouse and mother of children Cynthia “Cindy” Safford, Beloved Children; Oldest Son Nathan Gamble (Amanda), Grandchildren Jonathan “Dakota” Gamble, Mary Gamble and Ezekiel “Zeke” Hulsey-Gamble, Son Justin “Bo” Gamble (Bridget), Daughter Samantha “Sam” Gamble (John) and Youngest Daughter Cynthia Gamble (Ty), Grandchildren Cynthia “Sierra” Bergholm, Ava “Brynn” Teague, Landon Teague and Skylar Teague, Former Spouse and mother of step-sons Jacquelyn Gamble, Handsome Step-Sons John Abercrombie and Luke Abercrombie.
If Roy was here to tell you the story of how he passed away, he would tell you that he rushed into a burning orphanage to save a group of adorable children...Or maybe not. We all know how he liked to tell stories. We ask that you stop by and re-tell the stories he can no longer tell and join us for food, music, games and celebrating our Daddy.
A private ceremony will be held for the family on Friday March 10, 2017. Please send any flowers to 443 Windmont Rd Pickens SC 29671. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to American Foundation for Addiction Research.
