Ronda Gallucci died peacefully early morning Friday, February 12, 2021 with her husband of nearly 50 years beside her.
Raised in Rantoul, Illinois, Ronda attended The University of Illinois where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Speech Correction in 1971. During her final semester, she met Raymond Gallucci and they were married that summer. The newlywed couple moved to Incirlik Air Force Base in Turkey serving our country. They eventually settled in Garden City, NY, where they would raise their family. Ronda enjoyed a 37-year career dedicated to serving children at Lakeville Elementary School in Great Neck, NY, as a speech-language pathologist. After retiring in 2010, they moved to Greenville, South Carolina, to be closer to their son and family. The past 10 years Ronda and Ray served in various ministries at North Hill Church, while also enjoying all that South Carolina has to offer.
Ronda enjoyed traveling, hosting family for holidays, had a passion for antiquing (defined as the act of collecting meaningful old treasures to bring home to friends and family), practicing hospitality by opening her home and heart to anyone, and most importantly homemade desserts made by anyone other than herself. Ronda’s laugh could brighten a room and she never met a stranger. She was full of encouraging words for anyone she came in contact with.
Ronda was predeceased by her parents Leo & Viola Nichols; and is survived by her husband, Raymond, of 49-1/2 years; her brother, Tom (Judy) Nichols; her sons, Paul (Robyn), and Mark (Kristin); and four grandchildren, Sara, Timothy, Clayton and Matthew. She also leaves behind many dear sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins who were very important to her.
Later in her life, Ronda began volunteering for the Renewal program at Miracle Hill Ministries and the Shepherds Gate Program for addicts getting their life back on track and going to work. Her passion for glorifying God through work led her to drive women to and from their jobs on a daily basis for years. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to this program that gets women back to work and back on track in their lives.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and teacher and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at North Hills Church 4952 Edwards Rd, Taylors, SC 29687.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Miracle Hill Renewal Center, PO Box 2546, Greenville, SC 29602 in her honor.
