Ronald “Ronnie” Edward Turner, husband of Anne Marie Turner for over 40 years, passed away
on August 29 th, 2022 at the age of 78. Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, he was the
son of the late James Turner and Margaret Duffie Turner.
Ronnie lived a lively and fulfilling life, and he did it on his terms. From his days of playing
football at Carolina High School and at Clemson University, to his time in Vietnam with the
United States Army, his strength and determination came through in everything he did. He was
funny, charming, and the life of the party. His skills on the dance floor, specifically in shag, were
virtually limitless. He knew how to have a great time, live life to the fullest, and most
importantly ensure that others around him also did the same.
For over 30 years, he prided himself on his expansive career in facilities management. He
worked hard to create opportunities for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He wanted to
provide his beloved family with the best life possible and, in that respect, he succeeded.
Even through life’s tough battles, he would find his way to the other side even stronger than
before. His personality and his love for his family never wavered, regardless of the battles he
faced. He was a rock within our family and community, a constant form of support whenever he
was needed, and an overall force to be reckoned with when he felt something should be a
certain way.
The effect that Ronnie had on everyone’s life he touched was simply tremendous. His amazing
spirit, infectious personality, and deep-rooted love for his family will be missed in
immeasurable ways.
He is survived by his wife Anne Marie Turner, daughter Hayley Clark (Steve); sons, Jason Turner,
and Brandon Turner (Erin); grandchildren Kelsey Rogers, Katherine Rogers, and Turner Rogers;
brother Tim Turner (Judy) and sister Pam Fielder (Jeff) along with many nieces, nephews, and
others who knew him as Papa. He was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Robert
Turner. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Walker.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, September 11th, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at
