Ronald L. Pike, 78, was born in Lebanon, Kentucky to the late Elbert and Gladys Pike. He grew up in Monticello, Kentucky and London, Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife Margaret E. Kitchens; his sister Donna Anderson; his daughters: Carrie Lynn Pike, Anne Kathryn Kitchens Chilcoat and her husband Brad and Jessica Lynn Watsula and her husband Dan;, his one son Sean Pike and his wife Jenni; and his two grandsons, Caleb Chilcoat and Luke Watsula.
Ronald graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts, May 14th, 1972. He was inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta National Sociology Honor Society of Kentucky at Eastern Kentucky University 1971. He graduated from the University of Maryland Graduate School of Social Work and Community Planning with a Master of Social Work, May 29th, 1975. He was licensed by the Board of Social Work Examiners of the State of Maryland October 5th, 1977. He was designated as a “Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work” by American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work July 25th, 1989. Honor was renewed yearly. He was a member of the National Association of Social Workers, Qual Clinical Social Worker, 1991-1993. He was employed as Health Services Program Administrator by Western Maryland Center for over 20 years. He also maintained a private practice in clinical social work in Columbia, Maryland and Olney, Maryland for over 25 years. He was employed as Clinical Services Director at Washington County, Maryland Mental Health Center 2000 - 2007. After retiring from clinical social work, he was employed at Black Rock Golf Course Pro Shop and was a avid golfer. Hecserved on various community service boards, including: the Washington County Mental Health Center, the Washington county Mental Health Advisory Board. He was President of the Washington County Commission on Aging, and Department of Social Services Adult Guardianship
Mr. Pike served in the United States Air Force (6970th Service Group USAFSS) from 1966 - 1970. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
