Roger James Millard, Sr., 82, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 while at his home. Born on August 18, 1935 in Glenns Falls, New York to his parents, Roger Phillip Millard and Sadie Ava (Morin) Millard, he married his wife, Shirley Mae Hendrix on April 12, 1954 in Greenville, South Carolina; he lived in the upstate since April of 1968 and he worked as a sales representative in the stair manufacturing industry. He made many friends throughout his life and will be missed by many. Roger had been baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on January 7, 1961 and was a member of the Piedmont Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 61 years, Shirley Hendrix Millard who is from Pelzer, South Carolina; his brother, Kenneth A. Millard of Orlando, Florida. Those who will most cherish his memory are his children, Anita Lail and her husband, Mark of Valdese, North Carolina; his son, Jim Millard and his wife, Dart of Liberty, South Carolina; his son, Timothy Millard and his wife, Gina of Graniteville, South Carolina; his son, Matthew Millard and his wife, Esperanza of Easley, South Carolina; his daughter, Tanya Curtis and her husband, Kenneth of Troutman, North Carolina; his 15 grandchildren, his 11 great grandchildren.
A memorial service for Roger will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Piedmont Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 105 Reid Road, Piedmont, South Carolina 29673-7679. Please have any flowers sent directly to the Kingdom Hall. A gathering of the family and friends to Celebrate Roger's life will follow the memorial service at 4:30 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1 School Street, Williamston, South Carolina 29697-1113.
