Born on October 13, 1957, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Roger's early years were filled with the love and guidance of his parents, Oyer Tommy Johnson and Elizabeth Boothe Morgan, along with the cherished memories of his grandparents, Ruby and Byrd Boothe, and Pauline and Lem Johnson.

Roger's life was one of dedication and service, both in his professional and personal endeavors. For 25 years, he was a valued employee at Pet. He was also the president of his Homeowners Association for 25 years, demonstrating his commitment to community and his natural leadership abilities.

Family was the cornerstone of Roger's life. He was a beloved father to Brittney Whiten, who, along with her husband Ben Whiten, gave him the joy of being a grandfather to Dylan Whiten. His son, Anthony Johnson, was another source of pride and happiness. Roger was a loving brother to Michael Johnson, Teresa Dillard, and Cindy Briggs. He was preceded in death by his father, Oyer Tommy Johnson, his brother William Johnson, and his grandparents.

Roger could often be found cheering on the Clemson Tigers. His love for the outdoors was fulfilled with days spent on the lake, where he found peace and relaxation. Karaoke nights were a special delight for Roger, as he shared his joy for music and entertainment with all around him. His enthusiasm for NASCAR races was unmatched, as he followed the high-speed thrills and the intricate strategies of the sport.
