Roger Creel Ethridge, known affectionately as Roger to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024, in Greenville, SC. Born on November 11, 1950, in Georgetown, SC, Roger's life was marked by his jovial spirit, selflessness, and generous heart that touched everyone he knew.

Roger was a proud graduate of Winyah High School, class of 1968, where he first showcased his knack for technology and mechanics. His professional journey as a technician was distinguished by his tenure at Tupperware, International Paper, and Hartness. Roger's exceptional skills and dedication to his work earned him numerous awards and recognition throughout his career, highlighting his many achievements in the industry.

Beyond his professional life, Roger was a man of many interests and talents. His love for music was evident in his ability to play the guitar, sing, and write songs. He shared his musical gifts through DJing and hosting karaoke events, bringing joy and entertainment to many. Roger's passion for technology extended to his personal life, where he enjoyed tinkering with computers and other electronics, always eager to learn and explore the latest advancements.

Those who knew Roger will remember him for his quick wit and sense of humor. Roger's selfless nature was apparent in his desire to serve others, often putting the needs of his friends and family before his own.

Roger cherished time with his family above all else. He is survived by his children, Christopher Robin Ethridge (Cecilia), Lindsey Elizabeth Jacobs (Shane Jacobs), Gina Scott Vokey (Phillip Vokey), and granddaughter, Elizabeth Alley Ethridge. His legacy continues through them, as they carry forward the values of kindness and generosity he instilled in them. Roger also leaves behind his brother, Billy Joe Ethridge, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his beloved family members: his parents , Zannie Creel Ethridge and Myrtle Eugenia Langston Ethridge, his sisters, Betty Fletcher, Lou Ellen Wilson, Shirley Taylor, Anna Malone, and infant sister Ella Ethridge; and his brothers, Tommy Ethridge, Johnny Ethridge, and Harry Ethridge.

Roger's life was a testament to the impact one individual can have on the lives of many. His ability to serve with a generous heart and to cherish every moment with his loved ones will be his enduring legacy. As we say goodbye to Roger, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of laughter, love, and selfless acts of kindness.
