DACUSVILLE - Roger Dale “Rod” Childress II, 52, passed away at his home on
Saturday, March 6, 2021, after an extensive battle with colon cancer.
Born in Pickens, SC on Nov. 21, 1968, he was the son of Roger and Patricia Riggins Childress. He graduated from Pickens High School and attended Spartanburg Methodist College. Roger was a truck driver and previously worked in the machining and plastic industries. He was a member of Dacusville United Methodist Church and had lots of love for his family, music, and fishing. Roger is also survived by wife Angela Childress of the home, as well as sons Evan Genobles (Kimberly) and Chase Childress (Brittany) of the home; daughters Selena Turner (Josh Clayton) of Pickens and Jessica Simmons (Timothy) of Easley; brother Theodore Childress and sister Robin Childress, both of Dacusville; 7 grandchildren and 2 nephews. A memorial service was held at High Falls Park in Oconee County on Saturday, March 20. Donations can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society
