Rodney Lee Lawrence, Jr., 50, passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2021, from complications related to the coronavirus. Rodney was preceded in death by his mother, Jan Lawrence; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lawrence, and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Pittman: aunts and uncles, Mr. Eddie Lawrence, Mr. Samuel Lawrence, Ms. Anita Pittman, and Mr. Stan Pittman. He is survived by his daughter, Cherish Lawrence, and Partner, Toby Harris; grandchildren, Caden, Bella, TJ, and Ava; his father, Rodney Lee Lawrence; his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Josh Lawrence, and niece, Ruby Lawrence: his uncle Martin Lawrence and his aunt Traci Lawrence, wife of Samuel Lawrence.
Rodney was a 1988 graduate of Carolina Highschool. He was a longtime employee at J.P. Stevens Plant for many years, and then joined Wolfe Enterprises, where he worked in property management. Rodney was an avid Nascar fan, music lover, and Marvel Comics collector, but his greatest joy came from being a devoted father to his beautiful daughter, Cherish, and loving “Papa” to his four precious grandchildren; Caden, Bella, TJ, and Ava.
His fun-loving and warm-hearted attitude will be missed by his family, many close friends, and co-workers.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid,” (John 14:27).
