Robin Lynn Kooyman

March 9, 1959 — December 13, 2019

Robin Lynn Kooyman, 60, the much loved husband of Stella Kooyman passed from this earthly life December 13th, 2019. Robin was retired after a 31 year career as an outside plant technician with Bellsouth/ATT. He and his beloved wife of thiry-three years shared a love of nature, hiking, scuba diving, sky diving, deep sea and freshwater fishing. Together they had many adventures, enjoyed many forms of music and reading old books, his favorite was Dickens' Pickwick Papers.
From a young age he had a passion for riding and working on motorcycles. He was a kind man with a wry sense of humor who supported the Greenville Shriners Hospital's misson of helping children, who did citizen scientist research with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology for the preservation of bird species and their habitats. He also kept honey bees in the back yard to pollenate his wife's vegetable garden (especially the tomatoes) and fruit trees.
He was a Mason with Ebenezer Lodge 101 in Marietta.
Robin was pre-deceased by his Father, William Kooyman, his Mother, Maybelle Kooyman Gunton and his Step-Father Norman Gunton. A brother, Ronald Kooyman and his Brother-in-law, John L. Arias.
He is survived by his wife, and his canine companions, Buster, Noodles, Chauncey and Annie. He cherished those he called friends who are left to mourn him.
A celebration of Robin's life will be held at a later date in Stuart, Florida, where his ashes will be given to the ocean he so loved.
