Robert “Bobby” Thornton

Robert “Bobby” Thornton, 75, of Greenville, SC. Born December 21st, 1944. Bobby went to be with his late wife Gene Thornton, his daughter Lynn Thornton, and his sisters Fran and Susie on July 9th, 2020 after passing away peacefully at his home.
Bobby left behind additional survivors including his sisters Brenda, and Annie (Wayne); his son, Danny Thornton (Betty), son Jimmy Thorton, daughter Debbie Jennings Thornton, son Tony Thornton (Shelia), and son Shane Thornton
Bobby also left behind 12 grandchildren: Ashley (Joseph), D.J., Terry, Randall (Natasha), Robbie (Annette), Ronnie (Heather), Roger (Katie), Jonathan, T.J., Shannon (Anthony), Crystal, Thomas (Crystal), 26 great grandchildren, and several loved nieces, and nephews.
Bobby and his late wife, Gene, were married for 55 years. Bobby was a Ceramic Tile Setter for 45 years. Bobby was an incredibly funny, loving, and loyal husband, father, brother, uncle, papa, and friend to so many. He will truly be missed.
Services will be held at New Life Baptist Church by Pastor Guy Roberts on Saturday July 18th, 2020 @2:00pm on West Blue Ridge Blvd (Hwy 253), Greenville, SC 29611.
