Robert Fred Thompson, of Greenville, S.C., passed from this life, July 10, 2019. Born in Piedmont, S.C., on June 29, 1928, to Cornelia Belle Waldrop Thompson and Cleo Wesley Thompson.
Robert was a graduate of Greenville High School and Furman University, a Charter member and Elder Emeritus, of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church, served in the U.S. Marine Air Corps during World War II and retired from General Heating and A/C Inc. He was predeceased by his twin sons, James Larry and Wesley Barry Thompson, and Robert Randall Thompson.
Robert is survived by his wife, Doyle Cebelle Thompson and his daughter, Kelly Thompson Head. He was blessed with four grandchildren; Charles Manly Head, Emily Lauren Head, Charlton Taylor Head, Grayson Randolph Head, and twin great granddaughters, Millie and Charley.
Surviving also are his extended international children, Dr. Levent Doganci (Turkey), Dr. Ana Carral Dominquez (Spain), and Antti Aukia (Finland), who had the opportunity as sons and daughter, to know this great man as, “Dad”.
