Robert "Bob" Richards

Robert H (Bob) Richards, of Easley, SC died peacefully at home on August 6, 2021. Mr. Richards was born August 11, 1940, in Syracuse, NY, son of Harold (Dick) Richards and Virginia Benn.
Mr. Richards is survived by his wife Claire Button Richards, two daughters Tara Ann Richards (Chittenango, NY) and Robin Richards (Fort Myers, FL); beloved grandchildren Richard Shanahan III, Emily Rose Shanahan, Ashley Adkins, and Haley Adkins, great-granddaughter Laura Jane Haney, a sister Roxanne Starrate and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, mother, stepmother, Ethelyn Richards, and brother Thomas Richards.
Bob spent his childhood in Chittenango, NY, and Portland, OR. He was gifted with both a love and skill for flying and received his pilot’s license in 1965. He retired as Chief Pilot from Carrier Corporation in 1992. Bob was an outdoorsman, spending his time flying in the air, boating in the summer, snowmobiling in the winter, and playing many rounds of golf.
Memorial services will be held in Easley SC and Chittenango, NY.
The Easley SC service will be held Monday, August 30, 1:00 PM, at Crossroads Baptist Church, Dacusville Hwy., Easley, SC. The Chittenango, NY. service will be Thursday, Sept. 9, 1:00 PM, Crossroads Community Church, Fyler Road., Chittenango, NY.
