Robert 'Bob' Owens

Robert ‘Bob’ Owens, age 80, of 2023 Sheldon Drive, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Rainey Hospice House, in Anderson, SC. Born on August 10, 1935 in Orangeburg, he was the son of the late Robert Sherod Owens and the late Mary Laird Owens. For almost sixty years, he was the loving husband of Julia Chapman Owens. Bob was a graduate of Orangeburg Wilkinson High School, and Clemson University Class of 1958. He was a member of Greenwood Presbyterian Church, Greenwood, SC.

Bob is survived by two sons, Robert Timothy Owens and his wife, Kristen, of Easley, and Mark Sherod Owens and his wife, Joy, of Greenwood; three grandsons, Michael Justin Reaves, Joshua Sherod Owens, and Robert Cole Owens; and a sister-in-law, Ann King and her husband, Larry, of Anderson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his wife Julia Chapman Owens and by a sister, Miriam Owens Cook.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Owens will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the New Covenant Church of Anderson, with Reverend David Roundtree and Reverend Archie Moore officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
