Robert “Bob” Okonewski, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away on February 26, 2025, in Cleveland, SC, at the age of 72. Born on July 5, 1952, in Milwaukee, WI, Bob was known for his tender heart, generous spirit, and unwavering support for those he loved.
The devoted son of Jeanette Okonewski, who preceded him in death, Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Linda Okonewski; his children, Stacy Waack (David Reyburn) and David Okonewski (Kara Okonewski); grandchildren Chloe Waack, Sebastian Waack (Elizabeth Sears), Joshua Waack, Cassidy Okonewski, and Norah Okonewski; and great-grandson Lincoln Waack. He is also remembered by his brother, James Okonewski, and nieces, Nicole Myers and Janae Okonewski.
A skilled Professional Driver, Bob was admired for his dedication to safety and service. Outside of work, he found joy in fishing, repairing old cars, and riding his motorcycle. A passion he loved to share with those around him was singing.
His rich, deep baritone voice resonated like a well-tuned instrument, effortlessly filling a room with warmth.
Bob’s faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him with unwavering trust in his Creator. He found strength, comfort, and purpose in his relationship with his Heavenly Father, reflecting his beliefs in the way he uplifted others. Bob held a firm hope in the promise of resurrection, looking forward to the day when he would be reunited with loved ones in a world free of pain, sickness, and sorrow. This assurance gave him peace and a deep sense of joy, which he shared with those around him.
Bob’s life was a testament to his friendliness, intelligence, and optimism. His larger than life presence made a lasting impression on those he met.
