Robert Cravey DeLoach, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024, in Easley, South Carolina. Born on August 5, 1935, in Grove Hill, Alabama, Robert's life was a testament to the values of love, kindness, and gentleness that he embodied.
Robert's early years in Grove Hill laid the foundation for a life full of achievement and service. He pursued higher education at Auburn University, where he earned a Bachelor of Industrial Management, a field in which he would excel for many years. After graduation, Robert entered the Army and served for two years where he was stationed in Germany. Robert's military service and career as an Industrial Engineer in the textile industry was marked by his dedication and skill, which earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
Beyond his professional life, Robert was a man of many passions. He found joy on the golf course, in the tranquility of hunting, and the patience of fishing. These activities brought him closer to nature and provided cherished moments of reflection and relaxation. However, nothing compared to the love and pride he felt for his grandchildren, Elizabeth and Walker DeLoach. Their accomplishments and milestones were a source of immense joy for Robert.
Robert's love for music and his faith were harmoniously intertwined as he lent his voice to the Buncombe St. Methodist Church choir. His singing was not only a form of worship but also a way to connect with his community and share his gentle spirit.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Gail Callahan DeLoach, who was his partner in all of life's adventures. Married in July of 1962, together, they built a family and a legacy of love that will endure through their son, Michael DeLoach, and daughter-in-law, Kim DeLoach. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Robert Walter and Roxie Cravey DeLoach, and his sister, Martha DeLoach Nelson.
Robert's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of devotion, integrity, and kindness. He was a beacon of light to his family and all who knew him. His gentle demeanor and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
