Mr. Robert Lee Cooks Sr. was lovingly called (Bobby) by his Family. He was the beloved son of the late Mr.Page and the late Mrs. Mable Lois Cooks, on November 4, 1949, in Birmingham Alabama. He grew up in Bessmer and Brighton Alabama. Bobby finished Brighton High School with a promising future ahead. He was a very talented and blessed man with many talents as a sketcher(drawing) and a Portrait painter, had a unique voice (true bass) using his voice to sing for God in his church choir( New Zion Missionary Baptist Church) and a spiritual ensemble( Spirits of Harmony. Bobby had a strong passion for rebuilding cars and changing them from their original state which was what he did so many times. He had a love for renovating and fixing things, and a love for being out on the water in his boat fishing (the fisherman). His undying love for his family and the love his family had for him will always be cherished. Bobby had many friends he was loyal to and they to him, always ready and willing to help.
Surviving love ones to cherish his memory, are his life partner (Thelma)of Greenville, SC, children: Gwendolyn Louise Cooks of Detroit, Mi and, Robert Lee Cooks Jr. of Miami, FL; Roberts children; Emily and Angel grandchildren of Detroit, MI, Chantel, Brittaney, Micah, Dezel, Jerome, sister Phyllis Cooks Moore (Joseph)of Birmingham, AL, Nephews Antwan Jamal Moore (Renee) of Calera, AL and Joseph Moore III of Birmingham, AL, a host of cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Bobby, we miss you and love you. Resting in heaven and in comfort, now in the arms of God, my dear brother, the bond was never broken, your sister.
