Mr. Robert Carl “Skeeter” Martin

Mr. Robert Carl “Skeeter” Martin 82, of Cross Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 15th, 2018 in Greenville, South Carolina. He was born Saturday, August 24th, 1935 to his parents; the late Emanuel C. and Bobbie Owen Martin.
He will be missed deeply by his wife of 58 years; Linda Dale Moss Martin as well as his children; Kimberly Martin of Cross Hill, South Carolina, Robert Scott (Amy) Martin of High Point, North Carolina, and Cynthia Anne Martin of Spartanburg, South Carolina, his grandchildren; Robbie Martin, Michael (Kerstin) and the first great grand baby boy Martin both of High Point, North Carolina, and Nicholas (Kayla) Phillips of Spartanburg, South Carolina.
Mr. Martin served the Wade Hampton Fire District with honor for 33 years. He achieved the rank of Captain and was Battalion Chief at the time of his retirement.
Skeeter, as his father named him, was into athletics and sports all of his life. Particularly baseball, Braves all the way. He also pitched for the Fire Dept. softball team as well as being involved in slow pitch leagues in the area.
Along with his parents Skeeter was predeceased by his brother; Richard Martin.

A Funeral Service will be held at The First Baptist Church Cross Hill on Monday, June 25th, 2018 at 2:00pm.
