Robert "Bob" Max Smith

Robert (Bob) Max Smith passed away on April 5, 2025, in Spartanburg, SC, at the age of 72. Born on February 5, 1953, in Reading, PA, Bob was a man whose life was characterized by faith, wisdom, caring, and a gentle spirit.

Bob served 4 years in the Air Force, working on A-7s at Davis-Monthan Air force Base. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Liberty Baptist College, now Liberty University, then later earned an Associate in Aviation Maintenance Technology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He worked as an Aircraft Mechanic at Lockeed Martin, in Greenville.

 Bob was a loving father and caring husband. He married Camilla Rhodes Smith, of Lynchburg, VA in 1982. He is survived by his wife, son, Timothy Jacob Smith, of Duncan SC, his sister, Elizabeth K. Nonnenmacher, and brother-in-law, Heinz Nonnenmacher, of Reading, PA

As a man of faith, Bob was an active member of the Redeeming Grace Church.

 Bob enjoyed boating with his family on Lake Keowee, spending time with family and friends, and following current events.

 A memorial will be held for Bob at Redeeming Grace Church, 2307 Hwy 14 Simpsonville, SC 29681, on April 10th at 4:00 PM. His family requests in lieu of flowers, please donate to the crisis pregnancy center of your choice.
