Richard Taylor Pruitt, 88, died January 7, 2015 at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. He was the son of the late Dr Samuel Orr & Mary Cullum Pruitt. He was predeceased by his wife, Constance King Pruitt.  He is survived by Daughter, Robin Ross Pruitt, of San Diego, CA; Son, Christian King Pruitt, of Anderson, SC; Grandchildren, Ross Christian Pruitt, of Simpsonville, SC, Aaryn Lenora Pruitt, of New York, NY; He was predeceased by siblings Samuel O. Pruitt, JR, Dow Cullum Pruitt, Mary Burton Averyt, James K. Pruitt, William B. Pruitt and Edwin M. Pruitt; He is Survived by his brother, Robert Marshall Pruitt, of Aurora, CO, and sister, Nancy E Pender, of Summerville, SC.


Richard was a deacon and choir member at Central Presbyterian Church, Anderson, SC. He was also a member of Sertoma, SPEBSQSA, Four Sparks Barbershop Quartet, City of Anderson Planning Commission  and  an Anderson School District V Board Member for 16 years.


During World War II He served in the Navy as an Aviation Machinist's Mate 3rd Class, Crew Member and Nose Gunner with a B-24J Liberator Dive Bomber Squadron, in San Diego CA.



Visitation: 6 - 8 PM, Friday, January 9th. Memorial Service: 11 AM, Saturday, January 10th, both at Central Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 1404 N. Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621

Family will have a graveside service at a future date.
