Richard Majors

May 1, 1957 — August 24, 2024

Greenville, SC

Richard Majors, affectionately known as "Papa" to his loved ones, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, in Branchville, South Carolina, at the age of 67. Born on May 1, 1957, in London, England, Richard lived a life marked by devotion to his family, a passion for the outdoors, and a warm sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him.

Richard was the cherished son of the late Elbert and Nancy Majors. He established a life filled with love, laughter, and the joy of family. He was a beloved husband to Robbin Majors, a supportive father to his son Rocky Majors (Kimberley) and daughter Heather Brewer (Justin), and a doting grandfather to Chloe Majors, Channing Brewer, Christian Brewer, and Jacob Majors. He was proud of watching his first grandchild growing into a man and his only granddaughter was considered his babydoll. He will also be fondly remembered by his brothers, Ed Majors and John Majors (Kathy), who stood by him throughout the years.

Richard was a proud graduate of high school, after which he dedicated himself to a career in air conditioning repair. His hard work and expertise were well known at REWA, where he spent many years ensuring the comfort of others through his skilled trade. He was not only a professional in his field but also a valued colleague and friend to those he worked with.

Outside of work, Richard was an avid deer hunter and an active member of the Rose Hill Hunt Club. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his enthusiasm for the television series Yellowstone, which he would watch with the same dedication he brought to every aspect of his life. But perhaps his greatest joy came from watching his grandchildren play sports—each game was an opportunity for Papa to cheer them on, celebrate their victories, and comfort them in defeat.

A staunch Trump supporter, Richard was never shy about sharing his political views. Yet, even those who differed in opinion could not help but respect his conviction and the respectful manner in which he presented his beliefs.

Those who knew Richard will remember him as loving, funny, and selfless. His ability to bring laughter into a room was unmatched, and his selflessness knew no bounds. He gave freely of himself to his family and friends, always placing the needs of others ahead of his own. His loving nature touched the lives of many, and he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will not soon be forgotten.

As we say goodbye to Richard, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life full of passion, commitment, and an enduring love for those he held dear. His memory will live on in the stories told by his grandchildren, the quiet moments of reflection by the fireplace, and the echoes of laughter that will forever resonate in the hearts of his family.

Papa's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the warmth of his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. His influence will remain as a guiding light to his family, a beacon of the values he cherished and lived by every day.

Richard's life story is one of genuine connection and heartfelt moments—a narrative of a man who built a life not on material wealth, but on the wealth of relationships and experiences that truly matter. As we honor his memory, we hold tight to the lessons he imparted and the love he shared.

Richard Majors will be deeply missed, but his legacy will endure. His life was a testament to the enduring power of love, family, and genuine human connection. Rest in peace, Papa. Your memory will forever be a treasure to all who were fortunate enough to know you.
