Richard Bernard Lapp, 93, died peacefully Friday, April 28, 2017 with loving wife and family by his side. Richard was born April 15th, 1924, to Mearl and Ruth (Richmond) Lapp, in Michigan Center, MI. His brother, Duane Earl Lapp preceeded him in death, a sister Nellie Emaline Miller (Rex) survives.
Richard was a Paratrooper with the 511th Para Inf. 2nd, BN during World War II. He was wounded in action in the Philippines and received the Purple Heart.
Richard’s career spanned 48 years with Index Machine and Tool Co./Wells Index, and he retired as Vice President of Manufacturing.
Richard was married to Betty Marie (Clemons) Lapp September, 15, 1946. They were blessed with 3 children, Stephen Richard Lapp (Marjorie) of Mendon, MI; Dibet Marie Hotchkin (William) Greenville, SC; Beth Marie White (Ron) Santee, CA; also, 6 Grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews

The family wishes to extended the sincerest of thanks to the staff of McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville, South Carolina. The care extended to Richard and the Family during his final days has been beyond measure.
Graveside services will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Jackson, Michigan at a later date.
