Richard Lee Few, 63, of Greenville, SC, took his ride on the Gospel Ship (as he would say it), on March 8, 2017. Richard was born in Greenville, SC on July 13, 1953 to Samuel and Margaret Few. Richard graduated from Parker High School in 1972 and earned several degrees from Greenville Technical College in the electronic and computer programming fields.
Richard married Peggy Upton Few in 1972 and had two sons together, who are known as “The Few boys”. Richard is survived by his wife Peggy of Greenville, by his two sons, Richard Lee Few, Jr (Stephanie) of Piedmont, and Brian Keith Few (Charissa) of Easley, six grandchildren Noah B. Few, Elishah L. Few, Madison G. Few, Landon K. Few, Noah D. Few, and Angel G. Few, and three sisters Dianne Matthews, Brenda Nix (Joe), and Judy Byrd (Phil).
Richard was predeceased by his father, Samuel Asbury Few, and mother, Margaret Pearson Few.
Richard was a talented singer, musician, and Holy Ghost filled minister. He was a strong leader, loving father, amazing Papa, caring brother, and loved to make people laugh. Richard never missed an opportunity to spread God’s word. Throughout Richard’s ministry he preached at many churches, prisons, and in several different countries. God used him to touch many lives.
Richard enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was walking, camping, or driving his Jeep to the mountains. He loved jamming with his kids and grandkids. He never missed an opportunity to play music with anyone. Playing the guitar was his passion and praising God was his life.
Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday, March 13, 2017 at Westville Funeral Home located at 6010 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC 29611. A gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.
