Rebecca Mae Johnson, affectionately known to many as Becky, departed this life on January 10, 2025, at the age of 68 in South Carolina. Born on January 21, 1956, in Colorado, Becky's warm spirit and kind-hearted nature were evident from an early age.
She brought love and light into the lives of everyone she met. Her legacy is carried on through her loving family, including her children, Valerie Johnson and husband Desmond Taylor, Angela Robinson and husband Brian Robinson, Christopher Johnson and his wife Amanda, as well as Nicholas Johnson who shares his brother's heart and his sister-in-law's name. Becky was a cherished sister to Rosemary Johnson, Frieda Trexler and Katie Russom. She was predeceased by her siblings, Bernice Younger, Newton Russom, and Kelly Russom. The matriarchal figure in her extensive family, Becky was a beacon of nurturing love to her 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, whose lives were profoundly enriched by her presence.
Becky devoted her professional life to serving others with compassion in customer service and call center roles. Her commitment to her faith as a Jehovah's Witness was resolute and infused every aspect of her life with purpose.
A woman of manifold interests, Becky relished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sharing stories and moments of joy. Her passion for reading was only matched by her love for collecting unique pieces of junk jewelry, which she generously shared with those around her. Her fondest indulgences included oriental cuisine and the simplicity of a Taco Bell meal.
Remembered for her loving, kind, and selfless nature, Becky's legacy is indelible. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her and felt the warmth of her unfailing love. Becky's radiant soul and indomitable spirit will be remembered with heartfelt gratitude by her family, friends, and those whose lives she touched.
