Raymond "Smiley" Watson

Raymond Watson, known fondly as Smiley to those who knew him best, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, at the age of 81, in Greenville, SC. Born on December 4, 1943, in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, he was simply one of a kind and left a lasting impression on all who knew him in the Travelers Rest Community.

Though Smiley was predeceased by all his siblings, his legacy will continue to live on through the memories shared by family, friends and the community he cherished so deeply.

Smiley was the proud owner and operator of Smiley's Towing, a business that not only served the community of Travelers Rest but also reflected his own reliable nature. His work was not just a job; it meant everything to him.

An animal lover at heart, Smiley treated his dogs as if they were his children, providing them with love and care. His spirited approach to life made him a local icon, and his absence will be deeply felt by many.

As we bid farewell to Smiley, we celebrate a life well-lived. His journey on earth may have ended, but some will always look for him at the Waffle House in Travelers Rest. Smiley’s unique and kind spirit will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 1 PM, at Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Rd, Greenville, SC 29611.
