Ray William Stewart, 80, entered the kingdom of heaven on Monday, March 23, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church.
Ray was retired from G.E. and spent the last 20 years travelling the country and camping in his Winnebago. He was a member of the Palmetto Hirams, Chapter 139, National Camping Travelers, and the Palmetto State Winnebago Club where he served several terms as President.
Survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nita Stewart and 8 children. James Stewart (Vicki), Danny Stewart, Lee Marley (Darlene), J.D. Marley (Sheila), Anita O'Boyle (Sean), Sandra Howes (Chuck), Deborah Marley and Lea Ann Stewart. 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Ponda Stone (Craig), Mae Jenkins, and Linda Harkins (Bill). Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, John and Cora Lee Stewart. A sister Bobby Joe Dobson. Brother J.D. Stewart and his identical twin Roy Stewart.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm at New Life Baptist Church with the service following.
The family will have a private burial on Friday.
