Randall Louis Bringman died on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 9:50 am in Spartanburg Regional Hospital. Randy is survived his wife, Donna Kay Bringman and his older brother, Robert James Bringman, Jr. He was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Annie Bringman and his first wife, Barbara Jane “Babbi” Bringman. Randy and Babbi had two children, a daughter, Jane “Taylor” Bryant and a son, Judson “Jud” Burns Bringman, grand-children, Weller and Spencer Bringman and David “Wilder” Bryant. Randy is also survived by his step-children Kurt Allen Gore, Deborah “Debbi” Lynn Groce, Rodney Jay Gore, step-grand-children Christopher Gore, Amanda Tolosa, Amber Bargo, Brytni Lavender, Devin Gore, Kile Gore & Shelby Gore, step-great-grandchildren Riley Gore, Embyrlin Barbo, Kylie Taylor, Hunter Bargo, Keegan Tolosa, Maddox Gore and his beloved dog, Taco. Randy entered Wofford College with the Class of 1972 but stayed an extra year to play another year of football, officially graduating in May of 1973 with a B.A. Degree. He was a kicker on the football team and broke several school records including a 46 yard field goal. Besides being a member of the Wofford Terrier football team, Randy was also a member of Block W, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. While a member of the football program, his team played for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Championship in 1970 and in 1983, he was selected to be a member of Wofford’s All-Time Football Team. In the early 1990’s, he served on the Wofford College Alumni Board. Randy was a member of the Wofford R.O.T.C. Program and was commissioned in April of 1973. He wrote and published a book on World’s Fair Trivia in 1982. In recent years, Randy and his wife Donna have served the Wofford College Football program as volunteers of the football equipment staff. A service of remembrance will be held on Snyder Field at Wofford College during halftime of the Wofford vs. Chattanooga football game on Saturday, October 24. Special escorts will include members of the Wofford College 1970 football team and Zeta Chapter, Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. In lieu flowers, memorial gifts in Randy’s name can be made to Wofford College, 1970 Championship Football Team Endowed Scholarship Fund, 429 North Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303-3663.
