RaeNae Karen Still Nay was healed by the Great Physician when she went to her heavenly home on Sunday, May 15, 2016. She was born on June 16, 1961 in the state of Washington. She lived in several states and overseas as a child of an Air Force family. She loved the adventures of traveling, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. RaeNae was a light that burned brightly. She had a servant’s heart and was the feet and hands of Jesus. She loved God, her family and everyone that met her loved her because of her compassion and kind heart. She lived the JOY concept, Jesus, Others, You. She taught Sunday School in the children’s department at Lee Road United Methodist Church for many years and loved coming up with creative activities which Eddie found a way to make work. Through Lee Road UMC, she also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) for years. RaeNae’s most cherished volunteer work was through the Holiday Giving Tree, Heller Services Corp. at Furman University. She (along with her elves, Eddie and Spencer) spent months each year gathering gifts for needy children that were distributed during the Christmas season. RaeNae worked at Furman University for over thirty years. RaeNae is survived by her husband of 35 years, Eddie Nay; her son, Spencer Nay and her grand-dog Brady; her father, Lewis Still; her sister, Denise Still Yates and husband, David; her nephews, Chris Yates and Matthew Yates and his wife, Kara and her grandnephew, Hayden Yates; her grand-niece, Madelyn Yates and special friend, Lisa Oliver. RaeNae is preceded in death by her mother, Doris Still. RaeNae’s family wishes to express their gratitude for the kindness, compassion and caring support that was provided by Dr. Wiper, his staff, her chemo nurse, Mary Ellen and the nursing staff on the fifth floor of Greenville Memorial Hospital, especially Elise and Vanessa. A gathering of RaeNae’s family and friends will be at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Lee Road United Methodist Church with services to follow at 1:00 P.M. RaeNae’s wish was that donations be made to the charity of one’s choice or to the Holiday Giving Tree, Heller Service Corps., Furman University, 3300 Poinsett Highway, Greenville, South Carolina 29613.
