Rachel Darnell

Rachel Darnell, 77, of Marietta went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2019. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Lena Lucille Burdett Darnell.
She was a life-long member of Marietta First Baptist Church, and was retired from Milliken and American Security for Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Surviving are her family, four brothers, Butch Darnell (Betty), Jerry Darnell, Wayne Darnell, and David Darnell (Jayne); three sisters, Betty McCarson (Bobby), Billie McCrary (Bud), and Wanda Mealor (Sam); many loving nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased were one brother, Red Darnell; and one sister, Carolyn Darnell.
Services will be held at Marietta First Baptist Church on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Visitation will be from 1 - 2 PM, with the funeral service at 2 PM. Officiating are Pastors Brian Spearman, Bennie Durham, and Maurice Henson. Burial will be at Holiness Hill Cemetery in Marietta.
