Phyllis Diane Kincade Ray, 69, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, passed from this life into the arms of her savior on Monday, July 15, 2019 at her home. Born on June 13, 1950 in Fairbury, Illinois to her parents, Phillip Duane Kincade and Gloria Mae (Kurth) Kincade, she lived in the upstate for 43 years and she worked as a registered nurse and a pharmacy technician in the medical industry. She loved to sing and participate in the mission of serving in her church. She loved to cook, her family will remember her cooking of German foods, especially Schnitzel. She will also be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by many who loved her in their own special way. She will also be missed by her cats, Little Bit, Buddy, Scout and Zoe.
She is preceded in death by her father; her brothers, Michael Kincade and John Kincade; her brother in law, David Dailey; her nephew, Jamie Dailey and her niece, Shannon Vargas Kincade. Those who will most cherish her memory and her love are her husband of 39 years, James N. “ Jim “ Ray of Simpsonville; her daughters, Danielle “ Dani “ Kincade of Simpsonville, Michelle Garrett of Simpsonville; her mother, Gloria Kincade of Panama City, Florida; her daughters, Alicia Grondski and her husband, Chris of Hickory Tavern and Michelle Smith (Thomas) of Spartanburg. She will be remembered as Phuddy by her siblings, David Kincade and his partner, Leah of Cosby, Tennessee, Carol Dailey of Gibsonia, Pennsylvania and Anna Marlow and her husband, Dan of Panama City; her sister in law, Janet Kincade of Grundy Center, Iowa; her three grandchildren, Brooke Grondski, Kay Smith and Ethan Smith. Mrs. Ray is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and members of her extended family.
Services to remember and honor Phyllis’s life will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Life Spring Church of the Nazarene, 437 Holland Road, Simpsonville, South Carolina 29681. Officiating the services will be Pastors Bill Higgins and Sarah Sircey. A gathering of Phyllis’s family and friend for a time of reflection will be from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Saturday at the Church.
