Pheobe Elizabeth Rude

After 99 years, 9 months, and 11 days Pheobe Elizabeth Rude (Hubbard) of Sparta,
NJ passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son Timothy Rude (Jill), Grandchildren:
Andrea Cerone, Michael Rude, Steven Rude, Donald Rude Jr., Peter Giordano,
Nicholas Giordano and Timothy Rude Jr. She also leaves behind 12 Great
Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren as well as several nieces and
nephews to whom she was a favorite Aunt.

She was predeceased by her husband Chester Rude, son (Ronald Rude), son
(Donald Rude), son (Bradley Rude) and daughter (Pamela Rude Giordano). She
was also predeceased by her 7 sisters and 3 brothers who she was looking
forward to seeing again in heaven.

Pheobe was a remarkable woman who always seemed years younger than her
age. She was born in Ogdensburg, NJ where her father was a farmer and her
mother worked at home raising their 11 children. Pheobe often credited her
good health to eating homegrown food from the farm during her childhood.
She attended the original Ogdensburg School House and remembered it very
clearly even at 99 years of age. Aside from raising five children Pheobe also
worked outside the home. Her most notable job which she spoke of fondly was
working at the sewing factory as a seamstress in Sussex, NJ for over 14 years.
Pheobe met several friends and acquaintances through her church and also
volunteered regularly for many years at the church thrift store. She enjoyed the
simple pleasures of life and had a great sense of humor. She will be greatly
missed by many.

A memorial service will be held in Greenville, SC on October 17, 2023, to honor
Pheobe and celebrate what would have been her 100th birthday. Future plans will
include a burial service in Franklin, NJ. Date to be determined.
