Perry Benard Strickland, 83, went home to be with the Lord January 2, 2023 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Born October 4th,1939, Perry was the youngest of 8 children and the son of Otis and Mary Strickland. He graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1960. He worked as a foreman for Pet Dairy for 31 years until he retired in 2004. He was the widower of Rhonda Bailey Strickland.
Perry is survived by sister, Ailene Roddy, and children Keith Strickland, Kevin Strickland (Robin), Mary Deeane Edmonds (Neal), Jason Strickland (Nicole), and stepson Barry Hames (Kris). Grandchildren include Holly Norton (Tim), Heather Strickland, Michael Strickland (Jessica), Mara Giuliano (Anthony), Taylor Edmonds (Kayla), Caylin St. Cyr (Paul), TJ Bailey, and Justin Turner (Kaylee). Great grandchildren include Jayla, Lizzie, and Hailey Strickland; Reed, Drake, and Maci Edmonds; HC St. Cyr; Landon, Hayden, Brantlee, and Karsyn Bailey; Colton, Maddie, and Levi Turner. He is pre-deceased by stepchildren Sue Hames, James (Joe) Bailey, and grandson Noah Strickland. Special thanks to his beloved caregiver Kassidy Weathers.
The family will be receiving friends and family from 2:00 to 2:30 pm with a memorial service directly following on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Momentum Church in Boiling Springs, South Carolina conducted by Reverend Jonathan Weaver, Pastor Mitch Edge, and Jason Strickland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children's Shelter, 200 Hudson L. Barksdale Blvd., Spartanburg, South Carolina 29306. The family will be at the residence of Mary Deeane Edmonds, 260 Church Rd., Chesnee, South Carolina.
