Peggy E. Tallent, a beacon of love and joy, passed away on April 1, 2025, in Piedmont, South Carolina. Born on September 25, 1940, in High Point, North Carolina, Peggy's life was a testament to the power of kindness, family, and adventure. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.

Peggy's journey began as the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Safrit Dunlap. She grew up alongside her siblings, the late Betty and Jerry, and her surviving brother, Johnny Dunlap. Peggy's formative years were spent in Taylorsville, North Carolina, where she graduated from Alexandra Central High School, laying the foundation for a life full of love and hard work.

In her professional life, Peggy took on the challenging role of a truck driver, a testament to her strength and determination. However, her true calling was as a loving wife to her husband, James Tallent, and as an amazing mother to her children, Gregg Tallent, Phillip Tallent and his wife Laura, Cindy Williams and her husband Mike, and Michelle Charping and her fiancee Jimmy Walters. Peggy's family was her pride and joy, and she embraced every moment with them.

Peggy's legacy of love continued with her grandchildren, whom she adored as Memaw. As Gigi, she also cherished her great-grandchildren and many others who brought her immense joy.

Her goddaughter, Kristy Crawford, was another beloved member of Peggy's extended family. Peggy's nurturing spirit and boundless love were evident in the close bonds she formed with each of them.

Peggy's interests were as vibrant and colorful as her personality. She was an avid collector of Elvis, Betty Boop, and Coca-Cola memorabilia, each piece reflecting her zest for life. Her love for travel took her on many adventures, including memorable trips to Tennessee, Aunt Sue's, and the Dixie Stampede. Peggy's outgoing nature made her the life of every gathering, and her presence was a source of happiness for all who knew her.

Described as loving, gentle, and thoughtful, Peggy approached life with a warmth that drew people to her. She was the kind of person who made everyone feel like family, and her gentle spirit was a comforting presence in times of need.
