Peggy W Shott

Peggy W. Shott passed away in her Fountain Inn home on November 10, 2022. She is survived by her son, Jeff Reid; daughter, Susan Shott; granddaughter Jennifer Shott; her close friend who was like a sister to her, Janet Johnson; her adopted granddaughter Tory (Art); and her adopted great-grandchildren Natasha Wood, Nancy Wood, and Jeremiah Wood.

Peggy was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and elementary school teacher. She loved her family, and she loved working with young children. For Peggy, teaching was not just a job, it was a calling. She spent over 30 years in the classroom, and cherished them all. Peggy was a woman of many intellectual pursuits. She read everything from Dr. Seuss to the ancient Classics – and everything in between. She loved the arts, was active in the choir, had a deep appreciation for the opera, and enjoyed many genres of music.

Peggy was also an avid traveler, who had the pleasure of traveling the country every summer in her VW camper with her children. She followed her bliss, wherever that may take her. Hiking, camping, and spending time in nature brought her immense joy – especially when she could share those moments with friends and family.
