Peggy Ann Dunn Klemme, age 77, passed away at her daughter’s home at 20 Fawn Creek Trail, Fountain Inn, South Carolina on January 17, 2018. Ms. Klemme was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 7, 1940, and is the daughter of the late James Blaine Dunn and Lucille Crump Wright, from Fort Mill, South Carolina. Ms. Klemme is a retired employee of Beloit Memorial Hospital with 29 years of service, in Beloit, Wisconsin. In addition to her service to the community, Ms. Klemme attended Anderson College of Anderson, South Carolina.
In earlier years, Ms. Klemme enjoyed bowling, swimming, sewing, and relaxing often at her second home beside the Mississippi River in Wisconsin. Ms. Klemme found a love for her Native American heritage leading her to reside in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. The Cataloochee National Forest was a place of serenity for Ms. Klemme. Ms. Klemme was an avid animal watcher making her time at Cataloochee special because it was the homeland of her ancestors.
In her later years, Ms. Klemme settled in the home of her daughter, Joyce Rebecca Jenkins (Becky), who became her care giver until her passing. A special mention for her last surviving aunt, Ruby Wilson, and her most trusted friend and companion, her pet “Sophie”.
Surviving relatives are a son, Gregory Linwood Hatley (RayAnn), and daughters: Joyce Rebecca Jenkins (Jonathan) and Kimberly Dawn Kilgore (John), and predeceased son, “David”. Grandchildren are Ashley Erin Caruso (Pete), Seth Collin Hatley (Allison), Jason Wayne Bright (Allison), Amanda Diane Jenkins, Jonathan Micah Jenkins Jr., and Joshua Collin Jenkins (fiancé Tori). There are a total of 14 great grandchildren: Tori, Dana, Haley, Sage, Blakely, Jennifer (predeceased), Trinity, Stephanie, Cassidy, Olivia, Henry, Lucy, Addison, and Jacob. Special mention for Tori and Dana for also being helpful and loving care givers of their “Grandma Peggy”.
Ms. Klemme also has one sister predeceased, Linda Sue Shaw, and one brother, Evangel Dunn, also predeceased. She has two loving nephews, Joseph Dunn, and James Dunn, and one niece, Kelly Dunn Styles. Ms. Klemme loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was of Baptist Faith. She was a member of Fork Shoals Baptist Church in Pelzer, South Carolina.
Ms. Klemme’s favorite color was red, she wore it often. It would be an honor for anyone who wishes to wear that color at the service in her memory.
