Paul Hovey Trotter, 88, husband for 65 years of the late Irene Chastain Trotter, went to be with the Lord on Sun., May 25, 2014.
Mr. Trotter was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Lawrence Edward and Arlissie Stephens Trotter. He was passionate about sharing Christ with anyone he met. Mr. Trotter served in the US Navy during WWII; was an avid gardener; was a member of Golden Creek Baptist Church; was employed with Singer for 26 years; and was retired from Pickens County Recycling and the Pickens County School District.
Surviving are five children, Darlene Herd (Truman), Brenda Paulette James (Bill), Sharon McCombs, Sonny Trotter (Teresa), and Lisa Black (Aric); special family, Jennifer Pinion and Rena Kay Rowland; grandchildren, Angel, Sherri, Rodney, Jordan, John Paul, Heather, Jacklyn, Gracie, Sarah and Shelly; great grandchildren, Hovey, Rocky, Alexis, Rachel, Victoria, Tiffani, Elijah and Dakota; and one brother, Douglas F. Trotter. Predeceased were a son-in-law, Jack McCombs, two great grandchildren, Ashliegh and Christopher; special family, Diane Nix; six brothers and one sister, Columbus Trotter, Milton Trotter, Vernon Trotter, Gus Trotter, Lewis Trotter, Walker Trotter, and Tina Gillespie.
Services will be held at Landmark Baptist Church, Easley on Wed., May 28. Visitation will be from 1 - 2:45 PM, with the funeral service at 3 PM. Interment will follow at Golden Creek Baptist Church, Liberty.
