Paul's journey began as the cherished son of the late Marcell and Mary Ruegg. His early years in New Jersey set the stage for a life filled with laughter, love, and service. After completing high school, Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, a period that shaped his strong values and sense of duty, and was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne.
Upon his return, Paul embarked on a successful career at Simmons Precision in NJ, where he retired as a production manager. His colleagues remember him as a friendly and thoughtful man who brought humor and efficiency to the workplace. Paul's commitment to hard work continued into his retirement as he joined the Greenville County Club Maintenance crew, where his hands-on skills and camaraderie were highly valued.
Paul's heart was always fullest at home with his loving wife, Marilyn Ruegg, and their children, Chris (Mary) Ruegg, Denise Bansbach, and Edward Ruegg. His brother, Barry Ruegg, shared many fond memories with Paul, and they remained close throughout his life. Paul's legacy extends to his adoring grandchildren, Jack Ruegg, Cassandra Ruegg, Thomas Bansbach, Carly Bansbach, Victoria Ruegg, and his great-grandchild, Milo Jackson, who brought him immense joy and pride.
A man of many interests, Paul was an avid golfer, a pastime that brought him relaxation and excitement. He was a lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves, following their triumphs and tribulations with the fervor only a true baseball enthusiast could possess. Fishing trips, games of pool, and football Sundays were among Paul's favorite ways to unwind and connect with friends and family.
