Paul “Scott” Caraway, 54, of Taylors succumbed to a health issues and passed away late Friday evening, April 13th, 2018. Scott was the son of Trudie Giroux Caraway and the late John Byron Caraway Sr; Scott was survived by John Byron Caraway Jr. and wife Linda, Cynthia Caraway Hudson and husband Matthew, nephew John Byron Caraway III and wife Laura Geiken and niece Chelsea Caraway Baird and husband Tyler.
Scott was born in Greensboro, NC and moved to Taylors with his family in 1974. Scott was a dedicated employee of Publix Super Market on Wade Hampton Blvd., where he welcomed and assisted all, regardless of their circumstance. Quiet, shy, and unassuming, Scott enjoyed the company of his family, and their dogs. He filled the Caraway home with dedication to his loving family, the sounds of new age and modern jazz music, and the odor of the occasional cigar. Scott left a legacy of tolerance and compassion, enriching all those blessed by his company.
The family will convene a celebration of Scott’s life at 11am on Saturday, April 16, 2018 at Holland Park Church, 1131 Holland Road, Simpsonville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in the name of Paul Scott Caraway, and pray that we may all grow in the kindness and understanding Scott demonstrated in his life.
