Patsy R. Garrett

Patsy R. Garrett, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, in her hometown of Greenville, South Carolina. Born on February 25, 1941, Patsy was a vibrant spirit whose love for her family and life itself left an indelible mark on everyone who had the honor of knowing her.

From her early days in the quaint surroundings of Greenville, Patsy nurtured her passion for people through her career in food service and catering, where she managed a deli with creativity and a warm smile. Her welcoming nature and a great sense of humor made every encounter memorable, whether in the kitchen or gathering around the table with friends and family.

Patsy had an immense love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She dedicated her time to creating precious memories with them, whether it was playing kickball in the yard, enjoying trips to the casino, or spending time together engaging in their favorite activities. She cherished her role as a matriarch, not only nurturing her children but also extending her affection to her four great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her loving daughter Angela Hester; her grandsons Freddie Phillips, Adam, Ryan, and Kevin Hester and Tabitha and Kenny Garrett; and 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Patsy's heart also held a special place for her deceased family members, including her daughter Teresa Phillips, her son Marvin Garrett, and her husband Lewis Padgett, with whom she now reunites in eternal rest.

A graveside service to honor Patsy’s life and legacy will take place on January 10, 2025, at Graceland Cemetery - West in Greenville, South Carolina. Friends and family are invited to gather at 1:00 PM for the service, which will celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the joy she brought to those she loved.

As we bid farewell to a remarkable woman, we remember Patsy not only for the warmth she shared but also for the laughter and love that will forever echo in our hearts. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to be graced by her presence.
