Patsy Rebecca Cawthon Cook

March 22, 1932 — February 26, 2016

Patsy Rebecca Cawthon Cook died last week of Alzheimer’s and cancer. Born on March 22, 1932 in Toccoa, Georgia, she was the daughter of Theodore Roosevelt Cawthon and Ruth Kirk Cawthon. Surviving are her three children, Patricia Gaille Cook, Charles Wofford Cook, Jr., and Ted Michael Cook. Patsy had four grandchildren, Cassandra Marie Bailey, Charles Wofford Cook III, Emilee Taylor Cook, and Scott Charles Cook, as well as one great grandchild, Bryceson Daniel Bailey. She is also survived by a niece, Becky Solas Hatch.

Patsy spent most of her life in Greenville, South Carolina, first as a wife and mother to her three children, and then as a successful sales and business person. She also lived in San Diego, California, Palm Beach, Florida, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Atlanta, Georgia. For the past two years she was a resident at Diamond Health and Rehab of Simpsonville, South Carolina, where she spent each day visiting and caring for the other residents and patients.

The family wishes to thank all those who have extended their sympathy and kind words. They also wish to thank the nurses and staff at the nursing home for the love and excellent care they showed her. There will be no public memorial service. For those who wish to send gifts or flowers, the family asks that they make donations in her name of clothes, toiletries, books, and other items of daily living to the nursing home.
