Patrick Egan, 52 years old, died peacefully, with his family and best friend at his bedside, on October 3, 2021.
Patrick was born on June 21, 1969, to the late Henry “Boogie” Egan and Karole Egan of Taylors, SC. He was a graduate of Riverside High School, where he became known as “Egan, The Legend”. He was a dedicated employee at Home Depot for many years. He loved his work in the paint department and was considered a paint specialist.
Patrick embodied love, patience, resilience, humor, strength and determination. In spite of being diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was 11 years old, he showed all of us the true meaning of living life to the fullest, fighting and never giving up and most of all, he showed us how to love.
Patrick loved the Clemson Tigers and Dallas Cowboys! Orange was his favorite color and he wore it so well! He loved his family and friends and cherished the time spent with them.
Patrick is preceded in death by his father, Henry “Boogie” Egan. He is survived by his mother, Karole Egan of Taylors, SC; his sister, Kay Egan Wescott (Jim), of Columbia SC; his brother, Cliff Egan of Taylors, SC; his sister, Page Egan Harader (Tim) of Seattle, WA. Four
nieces, Kristin Wescott, Cecilia Harader, Caroline Harader, Charlotte Harader and nephew, Andrew Wescott.
Graveside Services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1901 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville, SC, on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 1:00 pm.
A Celebration of Patrick’s life will immediately follow at Smoke On the Water, 1 August Street, #202, Greenville, SC.
There are not enough words to express our gratitude to the nurses and staff at Patewood Rehabilitation and Healthcare and to the nurses and staff of Transitions Hospice Care. These people were truly angels and loved our Patrick by giving him the best of care and comfort during a very difficult time.
